Cluster Validate Microsoft Mpio Based Disks Failure
I've set up a 2-node Windows 2012 R2 cluster, using Starwind Virtual SAN as the shared storage mechanism, following their guide exactly (as far as I can tell) for setting everything up (iSCSI devices/targets in the SAN software, the iSCSI initiator settings, MPIO settings, etc.). Basically, they recommend having 3 iSCSI connections to each CSV (with the first one being to 127. I expect the cluster service to notice that one of the nodes is down, 'move' all the resources (CSVs, Witness disk, VMs) over to the surviving node and then start up the VMs again. Unfortunately, I'm not getting that. What happens is that the CSVs go into an 'Online Pending' state for a while, then 'Failed' (and obviously, the VMs don't come up at that point). Any ideas on either getting the CSVs to failover to the remote paths a little quicker, or alternatively, have the cluster keep on attempting for a little while longer until everything is connected on the 'new' node? (I've put this same question on the Starwind forums, but am trying here as well.)
